Your
Community Credit Union is pleased to announce the offering of a new
benefit available January 1, 2007 – Health Savings Accounts (HSAs).
A Health Savings Account is a tax-advantaged savings account that
offers a different way for consumers to pay for their health care.
The HSA owner owns and controls the money in the HSA. You, the
account owner, make the decision on how to spend the HSA funds.
Health Savings Accounts enable you to pay for current health
expenses, including prescription drugs, and save for future
qualified medical and retiree health expenses on a tax-free basis.
You must be covered by a high deductible health care plan (HDHP) to
take advantage of the HSA account. The Health Savings Account
offered by the Credit Union is a share draft account (checking).
Funds in this account may be accessed by check, debit card, ATM,
home banking, bill pay service, and voice response. The Credit Union
charges no maintenance fee for maintaining the account. Overdraft
fees may apply and will be listed on the Credit Union’s fee
schedule.
If
you have questions concerning Health Savings Accounts, do not
hesitate to contact your local Credit Union branch at
1.800.652.2328.
